Photo Album

We were lucky that one of our parents decided to coach 6th grade basketball for us. This is our "team" after a tournament one weekend. We got third!!! Our last elementary photo together. As six graders, we would be moving up to the junior/senior high school the next year. We enjoyed being the oldest in the school.
Our 7th grade International Tea. It was one long project that took all nine weeks to complete. We had to study a country, do several projects, and even dress in native dress of that country. A couple of my friends and I hang out between volleyball games during one of our tournaments. We enjoyed participating in different sports that were available in junior high school.
Old Faithful finally went off we had been standing in front of her for 10 minutes before she decided to go off. We were on our biggest family trip in our whole life. Me celebrating my 14th birthday with my brace on. I had surgery to remove a cyst from my wrist. It made holding the cake interesting because I almost dropped it.
My family and I went to Storybook Island for the "Wizard of Oz" festival. Besides Oz, I just had to pose right next to Dopey just because I was feeling pretty silly and dopey that day. My eighth grade graduating class. We started off small, but we are growing each year. Only a few more short year and we will graduate and be on our separate ways.
During homecoming, my school lets the seniors initiate the freshman into high school. All Freshman have to wear "beanies" and perform silly songs. My initiation into the church. Here I am with the bishop and the priest right after my confirmation. I had been preparing for that day for a two years.
Look mom, I made the band. My best friend and I really didn't want our picture taken, but band and photos go together right? I enjoyed being in band and playing with my fellow classmates. Band Trip?? Not really. We never got to take a really band trip but the band did travel about an hour away. Here I am with a couple band mates relaxing on a tall rock after our performance.
My family around the time I was in 9th grade. Our church was celebrating its centennial and we had our picture taken for the history book. Me and my kids? They aren't really my kids, but I was their nanny for the summer and their babysitter the rest of the year. I have been watching and taking care of them since they were babies.
This is just one of the Reader's Theater groups that I was in while I was in high school. We had just participated in DVC Tourney and received a Superior Plus. We were so proud we just had to smile. The Junior Prom. Something that every high school looks forward to. Its no different in my school. We spent all week decorating the gym to make the night "Amazing."
My fellow classmates and I hang out at one of the guy's house. His parents threw us a party and we had fun just being together for one of the last times. My whole senior class. We got out of class one day so we could go take a picture for the yearbook. We started off a small class, but as we grew, we stayed very close.
Just one of my senior photos. This is one of the better ones. I was still perfecting my smile when I took these. My last day of school. Here I am with my cap and gown on all ready to graduate from high school.
My best friend and I right after our graduation ceremony. You can tell we were happy to get out of there. Even though we were separating, we vowed to keep in touch. My family and I after my graduation celebrating the fact that I survived high school and was moving onto bigger and better things. Look out Dakota State here she comes!
Here are just a few of the awards I won throughout my high school career. I participated in everything from band, to sports, to oral interpretation, and journalism. It finally happened. At the age of 20, I got the best Valentine's day present: My first kiss and first boyfriend. I finally met a man who melted my heart. We are still going together.
